Community Edition of EV Nova

This is a big announcement. EV Nova for Windows (and WINE) has received a lot of big upgrades, including (but not limited to) the following:

It is now possible to scale up GUI elements and increase text size to match. Change the “ui_scale” setting in “ddraw.ini” to 1.3 to try it out.
The resolution is dynamic. Nova will by default be sized to your current screen resolution. This can be edited in the ddraw.ini file.
Asteroids work without a fix plug-in
Cleartype is disabled to improve readability, and fonts are changed for the same purpose, and to closer match what was used in the Mac version.
Radar interference works. This has been broken in Windows at least since 1.0.6.
Various hot keys from the Mac version are usable in Windows now.
Color accuracy is improved from Windows default, matching the Mac colors.
Faster launch and load times.

This version of Nova is now the default available at The Escape Velocity Website, and also included in WineNova.

Changes:

The app path is written to the registry, allowing scripts etc to locate the exe.
The game will look for its Files, Plug-ins & Pilots in the "current directory", to facilitate running total conversions.
Hyperspace Effects preference is now visible and will disable the white flash when turned off.
Pilot files are no longer encrypted.
New custom debug-mode functions added to execute NCB strings.

Changes:

Image blitting has been reimplemented using GDI+, for improved quality and performance.
Map borders draw in a much larger area, supporting fullscreen map sizes up to 1920x1080.
Nebula image selection prefers larger images over smaller ones, for improved display quality.
The hotkey for "x2" mode can be overridden in the ddraw.ini file.
Game icon has been replaced with the higher-quality version from Mac Nova.
Improved support for odd-width resolutions, no longer leaving a blank column on the right.
Improved support for loading data files from alternative locations with new .nplay files.
ddraw.dll override will be automatically enabled when running in WINE.
